There are no recognised certificates in Body Piercing and Wildchild studio is constantly campaigning to implement stricter controls over skin piercing. It is unbelievable the damage that 'amateur' 'piercers' can and do to peoples bodies. There is one operating in every town!

For a piercing to be successful and enjoyable the emphasis is based on the 'aftercare'. A few simple instructions can greatly reduce the healing time, therefore reducing the risk of infection.
** Always wash hands before touching a piercing.
** Piercings should be cleaned with a saline solution (salt water) five times a day for the first week and then gradually reduce the frequency until it is healed.
** Do not use anti-bacterial disinfectants or antiseptic creams. These do not promote the growth of new skin cells, whereas salt and water both occur naturally in the body.
